Yellow roses growing high above the farm
River Rio she runs slowly
Like a tired old lady with her aching arms outstretched
She's rolling west
Half undressed
And she's forgotten us already old friend

Yellow river like a snake out on the run
Like a fire road unwinding
She drowns the sun she sees the stars collide
And as they fall
She loves them all
She's crying all the way from here to Mexico

Let me wander through the mountains that I love so well
Let me ramble through the valleys
Let me be all I need to be
Then let me lie
Beneath the sky
Let me ride the rolling trail that leads me home
